First Nations
The Smart Energy Company was thrilled about our partnership with the Tjipogtotjg First Nation (Buctouche Micmac Band) and the North Shore Mi’kmaq Tribal Council (NSMTC) for an exciting skills training opportunity. Through this collaboration, North Shore hired two of its members to build their first NOREASTER micro solar farm.
Our company provided comprehensive electrical and solar training, along with the state-of-the-art 10kW NOREASTER system. We take immense pride in supporting the development of the future workforce, especially within the Indigenous communities.
This initiative is a crucial part of Buctouche’s solar strategy aimed at building clean energy capacity within NSMTC’s Member Nation communities. The NOREASTER system will not only supply power to the Buctouche Band Office but also support the Indigenous labor force in the clean energy sector.
This project marks the first step towards a cleaner, sustainable future for the Buctouche First Nations Community and the NSMTC.
“As a solar energy developer, The Smart Energy Company takes pride in supporting the development of the future workforce, as well as the community’s initiative to build its first ground-mounted solar farm. Through our partnership with North Shore Mi’kmaq Tribal Council and Tjipogtotjg (Buctouche) Micmac Band, we provided specific solar training, utilizing our NOREASTER micro solar farm for hands-on electrical skills. This system will now provide power to the Buctouche Band Office, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions for the community.”
