Shediac Community Solar Farm
NB Power’s First Utility Scale Solar Farm
The first of its kind in New Brunswick, this 1.63 megawatt solar farm will feature over 4,000 solar panels connected to an energy storage system. This project will produce enough energy to power approximately 100 homes for a year!
This solar farm will be connected to Shediac’s distribution grid and provide clean energy for two commercial buildings - the Government of Canada Pension Centre and the Town of Shediac Multipurpose Centre, resulting in a net-zero rating. If at any time there is an excess of energy produced by the solar farm, it will be fed directly into the community providing Shediac with green energy.
New Brunswick-Made
NOREASTER®, a comprehensive modularized and packaged solar energy solution designed to meet the unique requirements of harsh Atlantic Canadian Climates has been selected to be used for the Shediac Community Solar Farm. Installation is expected to begin in the summer of 2021.
